Abstract

The supporting and retaining system for turbo-generators driven by liquid or fluid uses a cable to suspend the generating equipment with a suitable degree of freedom to allow it to adapt to the flow direction of the driving field. The generating equipment is restrained against the displacing forces of the driving field, and converts the incident energy into electrical, chemical or mechanical power. Several individual generators may be supported by one cable assembly, which may itself include several cables. The cable assembly may be suspended from pylons, or from natural promonitories, or alternatively one end may be attached to a kite. The generating equipment is suspended by means of shackles, eye-bolts or cable clamps.
