Abstract

The container consists of an open vat which is fitted with a drain tap. The vat is lined with a flexible lining which is sealed to the open end of the container at the edge flange. The perishable liquid fills the container completely before being sealed. When the liquid is drawn off the flexible lining remains on the surface and excludes the air from the liquid. The vat may also be fitted with a hinged filling plug containing part of the flexible lining.
