Abstract

An electronic device operable as a metronome or tuning fork comprises a fixed frequency oscillator (5) connected to a signal generator (1) which applies selected signals derived from the oscillator signal to an amplifier and electroacoustic transducer (6). A preprogrammed memory (3) controls the generator to produce either a continuous signal at one of a selectable number of frequencies on a pulse train signal with a fixed mark and variable space, each pulse being formed by a burst of continuous signal at a selectable frequency to enable low or high frequency audible pulses to be generated in the metronome mode. Selection is effected by a manual selection circuit (4) on which two numbers, N=0.9 and M=0.999 can be dialled to select the mode of operation, type of audio signal generated, the beat, rhythm etc.
