Abstract

The system is used to secure offset cladding panels (3) to a building wall (2), providing sufficient offset for the inclusion of external insulation (5), and utilising a radially expanding or chemically anchored bolt (14) for prim. fixing. The bolt (14) secures a perpendicular slot holed (9b) strap (9) to which the cladding is fixed, this arrangement permitting adjustments by sliding or pivoting the strap (9). A hole (9a) in the bolt (14) remote strap extremity locates the head of a countersunk bolt (11) which projects perpendicularly from the wall, this bolt screwing into an internally threaded sleeve (7). The head of the sleeve is flattened and drilled (7b) to locate a pin (6) which enters a socket in a cladding panel (3) edge. The hole (7b) may be slotted to permit thermal cladding movements, or the pin (6) may be located in a link strap which is pinned to the sleeve head. Two link straps may be pinned to a sleeve head, or a rocking strap may be used with a pin at each end.
