Abstract

The centrifugal sand blasting machine comprises a remotely controlled rotor (9) to move the blasting material on to a large workpiece (17). A slide (1) is horizontally movable on rails (2) by a motor (3) and carries a column (4) on which a carrier (5) is vertically movable (b) by a motor (6). The rotor, driven by a universal coupling (8), is horizontally movable (c) by actuator (7) on the carrier and swivelable in two planes (e is one) relative thereto by actuators (11, 12). The abrasive is fed from a storage vessel (14) to the rotor via pipes (13, 15) and a valve (16), and after use returned (via 18-21) to the vessel. All movements are remotely controlled from a central point.
