Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a desired machining along a three-dimensional curved surface by a method wherein machining amount is controlled by controlling driving forces for the machining torque, revolution rate, and the like of a machining tool. CONSTITUTION:A grinding device 10 comprises: a motor 17 for rotating a grinder 11; the first servo valve 18 for controlling the revolution rate of the motor 17; a detector 19 for detecting the revolution rate of the grinder 11; a cylinder 20 and a piston 21 for moving the grinder 11 toward and away from a work 12; the second servo valve 22 for operating the piston 21; and a potentiometer 23 for detecting the position of the grinder 11. Control signals for the grinding tool are generated by a signal generator 16 according to the instructions fed from a sequential controller 15, which also gives read instructions to an encoder memory 1. By this, such a torque control is conducted that the grinding tool grinds the surface of the work 12 at a constant grinding torque and at a constant grinding revolution rate.
