Abstract

The evaporator consists of a cylindrical casing which houses a number of evaporator tubes located in the lower half. The evaporator has a top inlet and outlet and the fluid in the tubes is admitted and discharged at the ends of the cylinder. The evaporator is fitted at the side with a liquid level indicator (30) connected by pipes (32,34). The tubes may alter alternatively be arranged along the sides of the cylinder leaving the centre free of tubes or in the centre, leaving the outside free of tubes.
