Abstract

A craneway (8) for a trolley (11) moving a shelving conveyor (10) transversely to the longitudinal direction of the elongate material to be stored is mounted at the top end of vertical pillars (3) of the shelves (1) of the shelving storage, which are arranged in series. Furthermore, supports (5) for the cassettes (7) receiving the elongate material are fixed on the pillars (3), and in addition the pillars (3) form guides for a crosspiece (12) of the shelf conveyor (10), which crosspiece is vertically mobile and bears one or more telescope tables (13) which can be moved in both directions transversely to the longitudinal direction of the elongate material. The vertical pillars (3) are formed from semi-open sections, preferably having an H-shaped cross-section, the H-shaped apertures providing guides for guide rollers of the vertically mobile crosspiece (12) which can be moved up and down by cables (14) on the trolley (11). The shelf conveyor (10) has a trolley frame on which the rollers (15) and trolley running rollers (20) are mounted, and which has at its two lengthwise ends vertical guide sections with U- or H-shaped cross-sections whose distance apart corresponds to the distance between two adjacent pillars (3) and into which the crosspiece (12) can be moved upwards, out of the pillars (3), so that the crosspiece (12) can be moved above the pillars (3).
