Abstract

alpha-Amino-beta, beta-difuoro-carboxylic acids and esters of formula (I) and their acid addn. salts are new. R1-CF2-CHNH2-COOR2 (I). (Where R1, R2 = alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or aralkyl or R2 = H). Specifically claimed are (I) where (a) R1 = methyl, isopropyl (leucine), ethyl (norvaline) or n-propyl (nor-leucine) and R2=ethyl; (b) R1 = phenyl (phenylalnine) or 4-chlorophenyl and R2=methyl and (c) R1 = phenyl and R2 = H). (I) have potential use (expected from other cpds. having related structures) as antibacterials and CNS stimulants.
