Abstract

Boiler with recovery of heat from smoke comprises tubes which feed the fluid to be vaporised esp. water heated by the smoke and a distribution conduit leading in the fluid to be vaporised and a collector conduit for the vaporised fluid esp. steam is described. Specifically, each tube is spiralled and is connected at the top to the distribution conduit and at the bottom to the collector conduit so that the fluid only passes through each spiral once and leaves it in the form of superheated vapour (steam). Used to recover the heat given out in smoke from furnaces esp. glass furnaces, using boilers. Collection and feed reservoirs are unnecessary. Modular construction avoids delays in mfr. Identical accessories can be employed in all parts. Maintenance is simplified cpd. with natural circulation boilers.
