Abstract
The compressed air engine has a receiver filled with compressed air. The air is discharged through a valve to the inlet. At the top dead centre of the piston travel, the piston comes into contact with a rod which opens the valve and admits air to the cylinder. The crank drives a pump and alternator. The piston replenishes the air receiver. The alternator re-charges the battery, to drive the compressor which maintains a pressure in the receiver.
