Abstract

The machine is used for the multiple drawing of steel wire (8) and includes mechanism for adjusting the geometric axis (A) of the drawing plate (3) relative to that of the wire. The arrangement obtains an improved finish to the finished wire, attention being paid to the relative alignments both fore and aft of the plate (3). The machine is of the direct passage type, with or without wire tensioning gullies (9), with or without sliding, and with accumulation in the tandem or cone node. Adjustment of the wire in advance of the plate does not interfere with the wire adjusting mechanism alignment at the plate mouth (3a), the system using a pivotable (16) plate holder (15) on a pivotable cradle (17). A screw (18) may permit adjustment and locking of the holder (15) relative to the cradle (17), a sec, screw (20) being used to position the cradle (17) about the axle (11) of a return pulley (10) to a tensioning loop (L).
