Abstract

The electrode comprises a flexible metal mesh (3), sandwiched between two insulating permeable layers (2, 4) which are not joined together, so as to prevent vol. deformations. These are covered on the side placed in contact with the skin by a synthetic fibre layer (5) and on the opposite side by a spongy cover layer (1), the two joined together around their outer edges. Pref. the metal mesh (3) is made of stainless steel, the two sandwiching layers (2, 4) of synthetic fibre are approx 1.5 millimetres thick.
