Abstract

The screw press consists of a perforated cylinder (1) which is fitted with a rotating screw (2) revolving on the main shaft (21). One end of the cylinder has a feed hopper (3) and the opposite end has a door for the removal of the remaining solids after extraction of the juice. The door is located in position by a hydraulic cylinder (5) acting on the pivot point (4.1). The drive consists of a toothed wheel (6) with one or several pawls mounted on a plate (9) and driven by the crank (10) connected to a motor mounted on the horizontal axis (12), so that the screw inches round continuously.
