Abstract

The pedal is designed to ensure a safe clipping of the shoe to the pedal surface. It has an axle (2) and its contact surface (a) is mounted off centre by a connecting element (1). The contact surface is on top of pedal body (5), has a concave shape and is sloping towards the bicycle frame by an angle ranging from 3 to 5 deg.. The edges (6) of body are brough into mesh with slots formed by two L-shaped brackets (9) fixed to the shoe sole underside. The brackets are narrower than the length of the pedal body so that the meshing of brackets with the pedal is carried out by placing the shoe with bracket inside edges off the inside edges of the body and moving it axially outwards, whereby the brackets engage with recesses on the underside of body.
