Abstract

The installation comprises a pressure vessel (7) divided into two containers by an internal flexible lining (9). The inner container (13) is used to store the fire fighting additive and the outer container (12) is connected (17) into the pipe (1) conveying the fire fighting water. When the system is activated, this water surrounds the flexible container and the pressure exerted forces the additive out through the top. The additive passes through an adjustable metering valve (19) and a venturi, to enter the pipe conveying the fire fighting water. A drain valve (28), a level indicator (35) and a safety valve (16) are fitted.
