Abstract

The maemostasis clamp is used during a hysterectomy to hold all the vessels along one side of the uterus. The two arms of the clamp are curved in a generally S-shape with the arc of one curve being considerably longer than that of the other. The radius of the larger arc (3a) is approx. 100 mm while that of the smaller one (3b) is approx. 18 mm. The straight section (3c) at the end of the S is approx. 45 mm. There is a rack-type lock (4) between the finger loops to hold the clamp in the required position.
