Abstract
Moteur à combustion interne équipé d'au moins deux turbocompresseurs à gaz d'échappement 23, 24. Quand ce moteur fonctionne sous charge partielle, l'un au moins des turbocompresseurs 24 est mis hors service. Lorsque la charge augmente, ils sont remis en marche. La partie des gaz d'échappement qui excède celle qui est nécessaire pour faire fonctionner les turbocompresseurs à marche continue est envoyée aux turbocompresseurs arrêtés par l'intermédiaire d'un dispositif étrangleur 32, 33 et l'air que ces turbocompresseurs refoulent est injecté tangentiellement à rentrée des turbocompresseurs à marche continue, ce qui lui imprime un mouvement tourbillonnaire. Application notamment aux gros moteurs Diesel à suralimentation.
