Abstract

Two brake blocks are pressed opposite ways against wheel surfaces in the braking mechanism on railway rolling stock. One (11) engages a carrier lever hinged to the vehicle frame and to a connecting-rod, and the other (19) engages a lever device with one vertical lever bearing a brake cylinder (7) with central linking to the second brake block, and another vertical lever centrally hinged to the first lever, and end-hinged to the brake cylinder's piston-rod. The second lever (5) is hinged to the vehicle frame (1) at the top, and to the piston-rod at the bottom. The top end of the first lever (4) is hinged to the second lever, and its bottom end to the connecting-rod (15). This rod can incorporate a length-setting device (27) with its housing on the first lever.
