Abstract

An electrical water heater has a long cylindrical reservoir which can be mounted either vertically or horizontally to suit installation requirements. The reservoir (1) has rounded ends and is coated with thermal insulation (2). Feet (3) on the outside allow it to be mounted on a wall. A plate (5) at an opening (4) at one end allows the electrical resistance element (7) and thermostat (10) to be inserted. The thermostat comprises a bulb (8) for measuring the temp. and which is attached to a capillary tube (9). A cold inlet tube (14) enters adjacent to the heater element while the hot water outlet is taken from a point diametrically opposite in the reservoir via a tube (15).
