Abstract

The road tanker has a cylindrical tank (1) fitted with a number of vertical reinforcing hoops (4). Each hoop is made up of a top plate and two side plates which are in contact at the edges with the cylinder. The bore of the hoops is circular, but the outside diameter is elliptical with all the additional width of the side plates at the top, so that the cylinder hatches (3) are below the hoops. The hoops have horizontal bars (7) for lifting the tank off the chasis.
