Abstract

1426656 Marine offshore platforms INGECO SpA 11 Jan 1974 01403/74 Heading B7S [Also in Division F2] A marine terminal for loading or discharging tankers comprises a jacket of tubular columns 1 and an annular member surrounding the upper end of the jacket to act as a protective fender and which is formed by an annular plate 8 with depending wooden rubbing strips 9 which is flexibly connected to the jacket by way of separate piles of resilient elements 10 attached to a support 7 of the jacket. Each element comprises a substantially cylindrical central part made of resiliently yieldable material, e.g. rubber, and two projecting flanges at either end thereof and adjacent flanges in each pile are bolted together whilst the two flanges at the ends of each pile are connected to the support 7 and plate 8 respectively. The piles of elements are formed into units of four piles per unit by plates 12 which are located between flanges of two adjacent elements 10 and the plates 12 are interconnected by tie rods 13 so that the units are arranged uniformly around the plate 8, see also Fig. 3 (not shown). The platform also has a rotatable arm carrying a union 6 connectible to a hose whose other end is attached to a vessel.
