Abstract
Dispositif permettant de stocker de l'énergie dans un volant d'inertie, avec un meilleur rapport énergie/poids que les accumulateurs classiques (au plomb ou cadmium-nickel) et à prix comparable. Il comprend un volant d'inertie réalisé en fibres de haute résistance bobinées circulairement, accouplé à une machine tournante réversible (alternateur pouvant fonctionner en moteur synchrone). Un tel dispositif d'accumulation peut être utilisé dans tous les domaines où le poids de l'énergie stockée à bon rendement est une contrainte importante (véhicules automobiles, par exemple).
