Abstract

The composite building block comprises a concrete or brick agglomerate with a lining insulating material. The latter has thermal and acoustic insulating properties, its adhesive and cohesive properties are improved by the inclusion of granulated cork, cement, a damproofing plasticiser, a rapid hardening air entraining agent, and a quick-setting damp-proofing agent. A specific mix may inc. 85kg of cork, 180kg of CPA 400 (R center dot T center dot M center dot) cement, 0.9kg of plasticiser, 0.09 kg of an emulsifying air entraining agent such as SIKA's A center dot E center dot R center dot (R center dot T center dot M center dot), and 18kg of a quick setting agent such as SIKA's RHODOCIM (R.T.M.) These quantities may be mixed with 110 litres of water, and may inc. a quantity of not less than 0.1 kg of a damp-proofing product.
