Abstract
The method of adding an anticorrosion substance to the radiator of a motor vehicle cooling system, where the water contains an anti-freeze, uses a hydrometer (10) which is inserted in the tank or overflow tank. The hydrometer has a bulbous base (12) and a stem (11) containing the anti-corrosion substance (16). The stem has holes (15) through it so that water can enter and release the substance inside, as the hydrometer floats lower due to the specific gravity reducing. The holes are at different heights, so that the substance is released level by level. The substance is divided at different levels by partitions (17) inside the stem.
