Abstract

The cover glass is for the front and rear lamps of vehicles. The glass structure prevents other drivers from being misled as to the vehicle drivers intentions due to light pick up or sparkle by the glass from other light sources. The glass is in two parts, an outer part (1) which is uniformly coloured, either smoked or tinted, to be close to that of the vehicle bodywork and an inner part (2) which may be in one of several sections (21, 22, 23) according to the required lamp functions. Each zone normally will have a different colour and is divided from its neighbour by a ridge or groove. The inner part is spaced slightly away from the ridged inner surface of the outer by plane or profiled shoulders (4) integral with the outer glass.
