Abstract

The pump receives water at normal domestic pressure (10). It is divided into two parts. The first water supply (11) passes into a storage tank (12) where its heat is extracted by a heat pump (16) and evaporator (17). The water is cooled down to a temperature controlled by a thermostat (22). The second water supply (13) passes into a separate storage tank (14), where the heat collected from the first tank is added through a condenser (18). A thermostat (23) controls the upper temperature. Both supplies are piped off separately (20, 21), for later mixing, as required for domestic purposes.
