Abstract
Shape pieces of moulded propergol-based propellant material are thermally relaxed before loading into a cartridge for an acceleration or gas propulsion device, specifically by immersion for a few minutes in water at 90 degrees C. Used esp for charges having short combustion periods, e.g. a few milliseconds, requiring rapid annealing stabiliser the form of complex prefabricated strips or pellets to ensure balanced packing and combustion characteristics. Used specifically for stabilisation of pellets made by winding or extrusion into forms involving open multi lobal or double spiral forms and pref having a developed form which is rectangular with a trapezoidal or pseudo conic form at one end. Pref such profiled are grouped in parallel in bundles with one end anchored in a cartridge base lined with a moulded or cast semi-rigid sole of silicone rubber or polyurethane or polyethylene resin.
