Abstract

In a Secam system colour TV receiver the video demodulator output voltage is stabilised by the injection of a stabilising signal from an oscillator during the absence of the video signal during the horizontal line return period. A filter (14) tuned to the centre frequency of the chrominance signal spectrum is used as a reference frequency for the servo system for the continuous level output of the demodulated signal. An electronic switch (15) in front of the filter interrupts the video signal. This is controlled by a generator (16) which receives the line sync. signal (163). Two other switches (17, 18) are similarly controlled to isolate the filter damping resistor (R) and to short circuit the filter. This allows the filter to oscillate to produce a stable output voltage after demodulation.
