Abstract

Comprising two or more concentric barrels (4, 5, 6) each built onto a coaxial indented disc (11, 12, 13), the combination lock is used to effect secondary locking of a lever-lock (1, 2, 3) or similar, and uses radial disc slots (14) to control dead bolt (1) withdrawal. Each disc is engaged by a ratchet (23) to allow counting of teeth displacements from a datum, a unique combination, i.e. specific teeth displacement for each disc, being required to release the dead bolt. At release, the slots (14) may align to permit the linear displacement of a bolt integral lug (15), and barrel to disc connections may be made by the use of minor indented discs (7, 8, 9) engaging pins (10). A special key may be required to set the discs in the datum relationship, and the key to the lever lock may displace a lever (20) and a slide (22) to effect automatic disc scrambling.
