Abstract

An appts. for the cultivation of microorganisms is a vertical tank which is subdivided by horizontal plates into several sections. Each plate is assembled from several over-lapping circular sectors with concentric slots. By angular displacement these slots can either be blanked off or be fully open. A raking comb is arranged on a movable arm in each section. This appts. combines a higher throughput with a better yield per unit volume. It offers optimum conditions for a biosynthesis and preserves the mycelium in its entirety.
