Abstract
The unit for generating motive energy comprises a piston (4) in cylinder (1) with an inlet valve (6) in the head and ports (2) in the sidewalls near the other end, opening into a header (3) connection (9) with a vacuum reservoir/generator (10). A starter (7) acting on a crankshaft (8) moves the piston from TDC T BDC. For a small part of this movement, initially, the inlet valve opens and air enters; towards the end of it the side ports are exposed, producing a sudden drop in cylinder pressure. The starter having disengaged, the piston is implosively pulled back to TDC.
