Abstract

Water-containing graded bulk material is warmed in a DC-charged drum drier, sprayed with a bituminous binding agent and then heated and mixed. The material is warmed in a feed chamber, by the waste gas from the drum dryer. The gas also warms a system of inclined overlapping conveyor elements within the chamber, which are set at an angle to each other, and to which the material is transferred. During transfer from the conveyor element to the next one below it, the material is turned over, and during falling, is sprayed with the binding agent. The mixture is fed into the drum dryer, where it is heated further, mixed, and then ejected.
