Abstract

L'invention concerne un outil à fendre. L'outil 10 est constitué par un organe allongé de forme conique ou prismatique ayant une extrémité pointue 16 et un corps qui s'évase à partir de la pointe jusqu'à une tête élargie légèrement bombée 18. Des crans 20 sont formés au voisinage de la pointe. On utilise l'outil en plongeant sa pointe dans l'extrémité d'une courte bûche puis en frappant la tete avec une masse pour faire pénétrer l'outil dans la bûche, les crans empêchant l'outil de rebondir tandis que la forme évasée du cône applique une pression de fendage uniforme dans toutes les directions, provoquant le fendage de la bûche suivant sa ligne de plus faible résistance.
