Abstract

The hook is used for climbing poles or pylons etc, and has a foot rest (1) with holding straps (9) and a U-shaped stirrup (4) with straight sides (3, 5) to grip the pole. The foot rest is joined to the stirrup by a triangular or trapezoidal plate (2). The side of the stirrup (3) adjacent to the foot rest has a U-shaped mounting in which a removable friction slide (21) is fixed. This is pref. made of rubber and is held in place by bolts which are easily accessible between the plate and the stirrup.
