Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an electric cleaner, which is designed such that the body of cleaner is mounted, in freely detachable manner, on its handle stick, so as to use the cleaner in the form of a broom or otherwise to use the same as portable cleaner, whereby use and handling of the cleaner can be simplified and cleaning operation can be carried out in a most suitable way.

CONSTITUTION: In use of the cleaner in the form of a broom, main body 3 of cleaner is mounted on handle stick 18 through the engagement between support 24 and retainer 25 and engagement between recess 46 and projection 35. At the time of cleaning the floor or the like, turning range of stick 18 is rendered wide by depressing pedal 15 and releasing engagement of projection 20. At the time of cleaning low places, engagement of projection 20 is further released, whereby turning range of stick 18 is rendered wider. At the time of using the cleaner as portable one, on the other hand, engagement of clamp 41 with mating projection 40 is released by depressing release button 43 with handle 44 in hand, whereby engagement between recess 46 and projection 35 and engagement between support 25 and retainer 26 are released, so that main body 3 can be detached from the stick 18.
