Abstract

L'invention concerne un implant sous-cutané ou intramusculaire utile notamment pour la lutte contre les filaires chez les hôtes vertébrés. L'implant selon l'invention contient une forme à libération lente de la diéthylcarbamazine pour sa libération dans le courant sanguin afin d'interrompre le cycle de vie du parasite au stade larvaire et dans la phase de reproduction de microfilaire. L'implant de l'invention contenant environ 5 à 95 % en poids de diéthylcarbamazine peut fournir 500-2 500 ng du médicament par ml de plasma.
