Abstract

The stopper for a battery cell includes upper and lower parts. The upper part comprises a cylinder (21) and cover (22), while the lower part comprises a conical portion (23) fitting inside the cylinder with its apex downwards. The upper part includes deflector plates (24, 26) restricting access to the cylindrical opening (28). The opening (28) leads into a femal connector which receives the male pipe end (6). This is connected to a further pipe at right angles (3) lying along the top of the battery and connecting adjacent cells. The stopper is used for removal of gas produced in the battery cell.
