Abstract

The heater transformer is for X-ray generating tubes as used in radiology equipment. The transformer provides high resistance to leakage currents and to breakdown between the secondary winding and the core. The primary (12) is wound closest to the core (13) and is supplied from a local oscillator. The secondary is wound from insulated wire (11) laid in an insulating annulus former (17) over the primary. The former is in one 'L' section and one 'U' section part one leg of each overlapping with the other to form the base of the former. Output connections (16, 19) are made through a slot (18) in one half of the former.
