Abstract

a. Bande de tissu pour l'isolation thermique et plus particulièrement pour les isolements dans les centrales nucléaires. b. La bande est du type connu pour envelopper l'isolant de calorifugeage constitué par un tissu de fibre de verre fait de fils de silicone. Ces fils consistent en un verre présentant une composition de l'ordre de 60 % de SiO2 , 25 % d'Al2 O3 , 9 % de CaO et 6 % de MgO. Elle peut être enduite d'une couche de matière plastique pauvre en chlorure, à base de polyuréthane. c. Grâce à l'absence de bore dans cette composition, le rayonnement radioactif émanant de la bande après son exposition à l'irradiation n'a qu'une faible période de demi-vie. En outre, la bande présente une résistance à la rupture après exposition à la chaleur et une stabilité thermique supérieures aux valeurs analogues pour les bandes connues. Sa résistance aux produits alcalins est également meilleure.
