Abstract

La présente invention concerne un silencieux pour échappement de vapeur. Ce silencieux qui est relié à une soupape d'échappement à l'aide d'un tube en col de cygne 12 et entoure une chambre d'étranglement 13 est caractérisé en ce que le carter 11 du silencieux, le tube 12 et le dernier étage d'amortissement 23 de ladite chambre 13 entourent cette dernière sans contact métallique. Le carter 11 est formé de deux parties 11a, 11b laissant subsister entre elles une zone d'échappement de vapeur 14. Les garnitures 24, 25 servent d'appui aux parties précitées contre la chambre 13 et le tube 12. L'invention améliore l'amortissement des bruits dans les échappements.
