Abstract
The concrete pile with a widened foot for anchorage in the ground is made on site from a hollow metal pile for filling with concrete. A rod is lowered into it for sinking to the area of the tip, with reinforcing strands hinged at the bottom end, spread from along the pile axis to a position where they protrude into a prepared ground hollow. These strands comprise a lower bend-resistant section (9) hinged to the rod (7), and a bendable upper section (10) attached firstly to the lower one and secondly to the rod. With an explosive charge used for base widening when ramming, the interval between the rod connections is only slightly less than the lengthways extension of the widened area.
