Abstract

The element is made by mixing a concrete mixt. then carrying out various operations at the casting mould as follows. Channels for air circulation are introduced by incorporating solid or hollow blocks of ice into the mould in suitable locations during casting the concrete. Similarly insulating cores may be introduced. After solidification, outer layers may be applied which will effect solar radiation captive and/or give a decorative effect on the surface. The material may have walls of plaster or mortar reinforced with sheets or cables of polypropylene and may be filled with insulating materials or aggregates. The blocks are multipurpose, having more functions than traditional building elements, yet may be made at low cost. Each block is insulating and load bearing or not as desired, it will capture solar radiation; it will circulate hot or cold air; it can be decorative.
