a. L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif pour enlever l'azote des eaux résiduaires. b. Procédé caractérisé en ce qu'à la suite de l'installation de clarification mécano-biologique conduisant à l'oxydation de l'ammoniaque et à la réduction du nitrate donnant de l'azote gazeux, on utilise deux étapes de purification biologique se suivant directement ou indirectement et distincts l'un de l'autre, travaillant selon le procédé du lit bactérien plongeur, où les surfaces de croissance bactérienne de chaque type, qui plongent au moins à moitié dans l'eau résiduaire, sont décalées en rotation. c. L'invention trouve son application principale dans la technique se rapportant à la purification des eaux résiduaires
