Abstract

Each container is a rectangular box with a plastics film inside, holding the material, but with an open bottom resting on bottom flaps (12, 13). These in turn are supported by the central longitudinal member (4) forming part of the pallet. The container is handled by a fork lift device, and is supported also by the outer longitudinals (3, 5). To empty the container, the middle longitudinal is slid from under the container, so that the bottom flaps can swing open downwards. The weight of the contents also opens the folds of the plastics film so that the contents are discharged through the open frame of the pallet.
