Abstract
Câble contenant des fibres optiques comprenant un canal axial 11 destiné à recevoir les fibres optiques, entouré d'un bloc ou matrice en matériau polymère 12. Dans cette matrice sont noyés des fils 13 enroulés en hélice, constituant une couche de protection contre la compression radiale et des fils longitudinaux 14, 15, résistant à la traction. Autour de la matrice 12, on peut placer une feuille de métal s'opposant à la pénétration de l'eau. Le câble est enfin muni d'une gaine 18 en polyéthylène. Application : câble sous-marin utilisable à des profondeurs allant jusqu'à 6 000 mètres et même au-delà.
