Abstract

L'invention concerne les gyroscopes à laser. Elle se rapporte à un gyroscope à laser dans lequel des modes secondaires relativement peu intenses, légèrement supérieur au seuil de fonctionnement du laser annulaire du gyroscope, sont couplés à des modes primaires plus intenses, se propageant en sens inverses dans le laser annulaire si bien que le couplage provoque un effet d'oscillation qui réduit ou élimine le verrouillage entre les modes primaires. Dans un mode de réalisation, la longueur de la cavité est réglée afin que deux modes secondaires se déplaçant en sens inverses soient formés dans la cavité, alors que les deux modes primaires se trouvent très au-delà du seuil.
