Abstract
The block consists e.g. of natural or synthetic stone; cement concrete; concrete bonded by resin; plaster; or ceramic; and the block is coated on at least one surface with a thin layer of metal obtd. by the spraying of molten metal. The pref. coating consists of at least one layer of Zn applied directly to the block and then covered by one or more layers of a metal (I) which does not oxidise. A pref. prod. consists of paving stones or tiles for covering floors, walls or roofs; and the pref. mfg. process consists of drying and pretreating the block and applying zinc by a spray gun; and a spray gun is also used to apply metal (I). The initial drying is pref. in a stove at 80-200 degrees C, followed by shot blasting as the pretreatment prior to spraying. Used e.g. on vases, ashtrays, sculpture, but esp. on large panels decorating entrance halls.
