Abstract

629,773. Exfoliated verimiculite coating. CLIPSON, S. Nov. 24, 1947, No. 31061. [Class 93] Surfaces such as stone, brick, concrete, cement, metal, wood or composition board are coated by the application of a thick layer of a slowdrying coating composition and, before this layer has dried, the throwing on of exfoliated vermiculite. It is preferred that the vermiculite is uncoated, that it is applied by a spray-gun or nozzle, and that it is pressed partially into the coating layer by means of a vibrating trowel or screed. The coating may be a red or white lead paint, an ordinary undercoating paint or bituminous paint, an example being white, lead and gold size in pigmented stand oil.
