Abstract

The electric device for driving Venetian blinds comprises a tubular electric motor (1) whose casing (2) comprises two parts (3 and 4) connected by a connection element (5), having a smaller external diameter than the casing (2), fitted with a central passage (8). The part (3) contains the back-geared motor (12) proper, and the part (4) contains a device (11) for stopping the blind at the end of its travel. The drive shaft (14) drives in rotation, by means of a drive member (15), a tube (16) placed concentrically around the casing (2). The tube (16) comprises two parts (44 and 45) which are connected by means of a grooved pulley (48) placed at the location of and around the connection element (5). A strap (49) of the Venetian blind can be wound thereon without the maximum diamter of this winding becoming greater than that of the tube (16). The device may be used in particular for driving Venetian blinds of great height fitted with flat raising straps.
